Testing for something fun

Speaking of the fat 8th bundles, I got two more for my new adventure.

As a member of "One Flower Wednesdays", I browse through other member's blogs weekly and learned there are two major viruses going on, especially in Europe. One is called "Klosjes" which I think "Spool" block and the other one is "Clamshell". As I don't need more of hand piecing/applique projects right now, I decided to make some Spool blocks with more of Jo's fabrics!

I've always wanted to try some of the projects from these cute little booklets from Temecula Quilt Co. and found this spool quilt. I think they are getting ready to through out the third booklet this week during The Annual Southern California Quilt Run. That sounds really fun, doesn't it!?

The block size is 3" finished. Yes, they are pretty small and awfully cute!!

The way this spool block made is a little different than "Klosjes". It looks more simplified for the rotary cutting and machine piecing friendly, which is just perfect for me! It's another easy and fun block to make with a nice effect.

Oh, I also stopped by at J store to stock up with all the cutting supplies I need yesterday while they are having the 50 % off sale this week. And look Heather, I got a new 60mm blade! Now I have 28mm, 45mm and 60mm rotary cutters ready to be in business!!

  1. Woohoo! Look at you go! I have a pattern for those bow-tie/spool thingies, but am a little intimidated to put them together due to the inset seams. Yours look lovely!
