Last night, as I was browsing through Una's blog,
I came across something very interesting
and it got me right away!
It's called Reverse Applique.
Shortly after waking up in this morning,
I rash into my sewing room
and started trying this technique
with this lovely doll quilt on the cover
of my favorite book in my mind...
I've tried Applique with quite a few different ways
in the past,
and finally found a sort of my favorite way
without "Needleturn" at JLWC last year.
But it still doesn't make me
100% happy as I'm not crazy about
the preparation step
with so many little things involved.
So I've pretty much came to decide
that I don't think I'll start any Applique project
with the exception of some simple
small portion of the blocks
like this one I just finished.
And now I found this unique method
which will be ideal for such simple
Applique and that seems to be perfect for me!
No starch, No water,
No heavy ironing.
The way to go!!!
Thank you Una...
PS: I just finished my first one!
And guess what?
I'm ready to move onto the next one ;)
One of the good things about using Freezer paper is
it is reusable till worn out to be ironed.
It was such an easy and smooth ride
all the way through...

Beautiful, very nice. I've tried this method in some of the dear Jane blocks, and I feel very comfortable with it too. You might know that the orange peel quilt is on my to do list also? I just need to have some finishes first...
