Layout Matters

As it's been really hot here lately,
I found myself enjoying the hand stitching project
 over the machine sewing.

Today, I'm adding some more flowers
in lighter colors into my garden!

I also made more of the spool blocks.
And now I have all 25 blocks
to make a doll quilt.

Well, someone nice who is happened to be
my new friend called these are the cheater blocks
as there are no traditional Y seams to make
these ones like "Klosjes".

But that's quite all right with me.
I really enjoy making them!
Thanks Ms. H!
And don't worry,
I still think you are a nice girl ;)

Here are my baskets.
I added 4 more and they are now ready
to be sewed together.

BTW, I did fix the "Oops basket" last night.
I'm very proud of myself!!

Anyhow, all of these three projects
will remain the way they are for now
as I'm not for sure about
their layout yet.

I'll keep looking at them all day today
and maybe tomorrow
before making the final decisions.

Yes, I have some big decisions to make
for these...

  2. Oh I envy you! You are so productive while I mess around with housework, chasing a child, cleaning up vomit, and wishing it would stop raining! I want to quilt too!! Love your projects so much! I'm certain that my spools will be done the "cheater" way too whenever I get to them!

  3. Your blocks are all lovely! I think yours are called bow-tie blocks, not spools, but they are very similar. When I make the spools, there are only 5 pieces to put together. They are two different blocks looking very similar, as simple as that. Good girl!
