My AM's fabrics & modern quilts obsession

***** Click "Read more" option *****

"Charming Baby Log Cabin"
Size: Lap Quilt 41" x 59"

Not only CW repros with the traditional blocks,
I also love some of modern quilt's styles.

When I came back to quilting
in spring of 2009,
I jumped onto AM's line at LQS

I just love everything about her line!
It's gorgeous, cheerful and very feminine.

Anyhow, I needed some rehab to remember
how to sew after a few years of the absence,
and it was just a perfect project
with its simplicity :)

I was away from quilting for good 7-8 years
before that time, and when I came back,
I found there are load of changes
in the quilting world, as for the techniques,
 the styles and almost everything!

And it was so exciting to see as anything
I saw and learned were fairly new to me.
I've gained so many inspirations and
temptations and ever since I've been still sewing :)

One of the great inspirations I got
at that time was from this group.

I quietly started following their blog
about the quilting bee in modern style
and enjoyed seeing the progress of
each month.

I was so fascinated with
everyone's unique style and taste
to make a quilt!

And now it has been published as a beautiful book!!
I just received my copy a couple of days ago
and love the pictures and methods
they used for each project.

Back to AM's fabrics.

I saw this block on your right in the above
- x and plus block, at Lee's place yesterday
and whipped one up right away
with the leftover fabrics from my skirt

It was another fun block
using all the pretty fabrics
which have very strong personalities.

My next plan as for quilting is
to quilt that one patch log cabin quilt.

I already have a plan in my mind about
how I'd like to try quilting on that one ;)
I will shoot for doing that
probably next week or so!?

Wish me a good luck!!

  3. This is the first time I've seen Anna Maria's fabrics. I have a large stash of CW fabric and lots of French General... but this fabric line is tempting me.

  4. Good luck. The fabbies are wonderful. Very colorful too!!! When I got online, I was already actively stitching, but there were all kinds of things that were fairly new to me too. Some things were things I had known long ago and forgotten, some things were totally new, and some were things I already knew. I think it's like that for any craft!!
