56 Hexies wonder and more

Something a little new and interesting I found...

***** Click "Read more" option *****

As it seems the hexagons are in again lately,
I got the itch making some to see
if I could come up with something new to me.

What I found was this tutorial
which shows us how to machine piece
the hexagons.
Yes, they are all machine pieced!!
Isn't it amazing!?

I got this 2" hexagon stamp 10+ years ago
along with the ink pads for the fabric
at one of the vendors at the local quilt show.

I've never used it, but something clicked my brain
and it reminded me of what I have
in my closet!!

I've tried a couple if different methods
of making the hexagons in the past.

One is this way by machine with rotary cutting,
and the other is just a traditional
English paper piecing which
I'm currently still working on
as a member of One Flower Wednesday.

But I've always wanted to try
something quicker, yet easy way to
piece them together by machine
and finally got encouraged to try!

I'm very happy with how the way
it turned out :)))
It went really fast and actually nice!!

Now I have these wild looking blocks
right infront of me.
I think I do have an idea as for
how to finish them, but not sure
how soon I'll get worked on them :P

Oh BTW,
I decided to jump onto the wagon of
Kaleidoscope Quilt Along @Don't call me Betsy.

This is another one of the quilts
on my wish list to make "someday"
and it's about that time now!!

I chose the fabrics from the AM's new line
and still debating the background solid.
It's a sort of funny to find myself leaning to more
modern quilts with the comtemporary fabrics
 during the warmer season.

I think my mood will stay like this
during this summer, and will be limited for
CW repro's quilts for now.

Anyway, I can't wait to get started on
this farbulous QAL project later this month!!

"Ann Grant 1829" by Shakespeare's Peddler
Fabric: Vtg. Sand Dune 40ct @LL
Fiber: called for

Some may wonder how Ann has been doing?
Well, she is making a slow progress,
and has not been neglected yet!
lol

My needle just turned the top right corner
last night and it was really excited to see
all the border stitches are in good place :)

And here is the thread catcher
made by my quilty buddy Ms. K.

Her mind has been away from
sewing lately, but she still made this lovely
thing for me the other day :)))
Thank you so much!!

I can't show you the inside though
as it's filled with the bad threads already!!
Ughhhhhhhh

Sorry for some late replies back to
the comments you may have left
since last week.

We went up to the north
over the last weekend and
sure enjoyed a nice weather - mid 80's!!

Ms. Limo also enjoyed her walk
and had a good time in the country.

I will catch up with you all
who haven't heard back from me yet
in the next few days ;)

That's all for now.
Enjoy the rest of your day...

xoxo,
