Summer fun has begun!
I finally made up my mind with
the sable as the solid triangles.
Thank for everyone who helped me
with the selection.
Now I can be really relaxed for awhile :)))
The piecing instruction #1 is up now
and I proceeded with that without any problem.
I just took the extra care of
the bias edges as fragile.
Then as Elizabeth's suggestion,
I pressed my seams opened ;)
The blank spots are where
the missing fabric is going to be
(There was a FQ left out from my order!),
which I'm still patiently awaiting to receive.
The solid look gigantic all over,
but after sewn with the prints,
they should get settled better.
Can't wait to follow the next instructions!!

Gorgeous!! I think you made the right choice with the sable. so pretty!!! I have to go delve back and see what fabric line you're using again. Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!! I love the Sable-it it were not for my zoo of animals I would have loved to have a dark background on a quilt!! One day!!
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty! I love the sable and all the prints just pop!
ReplyDeleteWow....the sable is fantastic with those prints.....beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be fantastic ! Can't wait to see it pieced !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I think the sable makes the colors pop but also gives a resting place for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be great! Love all the hexagon flowers you've made too :o)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
Laila
That quilt is really fast growing. Love it how it turns out. Sable is looking great. I think you made a good choice here
ReplyDeleteYour fabrics are so cheerful - just LOVE them! This quilt is coming together so beautifully and quickly!
ReplyDeleteYOu have been busy during my absence! Lovely progress on Ann Grant, beautiful red flower hexies which look lovely all grouped together, and your new quilt has wonderful colors in it.
ReplyDeleteMax & Mia are enjoying their new collars, although Mia rolled in something stinky, so she and the collar got a good washing! Wishing you a wonderful Independence Day.
I love the overall look of this quilt. Great use of the solid.
ReplyDeleteLove how the sable looks with the prints - don't even remember now how I voted! Maybe your quilting will help make the solid recede? More quilting on the solid to make the prints pop? Not sure if that would be the case, but it will be fun to see your progress.
ReplyDeleteI've been pressing my seams open for most projects for about a year and I really like it. My blocks lay flatter and go together more easily.
I love the sable brown with all the other colors. I am a big brown fan! Look forward to seeing the finished quilt!
