What's that for?
I'm not sure either...
lol
Well, last night as I was browsing
all over blogland,
I found this lovely sampler
at pamina's blog.
She joined SAL to stitch
antique reproduction sampler
by Emmanuelle.
She charted "Mary Glover" sampler
and offering for SAL.
I was going for "Mary Gipson"
as posted yesterday,
then found I need a fabric and
some threads to get started,
while I have pretty much everything
except one thread I need
for Mary Glover in my stash!!
My major concern is if to stitch
on 34ct linen with one strand of NPI
over two linen thread would give enough coverage?
I was suggested this beautiful linen
years ago at my LNS.
40ct linen is my all time favorite,
but I also know it's depends on
the fabric...
But still I feel a little odd about 34ct.
Legacy linen is very nice and thick.
It's almost like Glenshee Linen's texture.
I tested with NPI to see
how they look like.
Another reason I may want to go with
34ct linen is I'm thinking if I can
stitch the middle of the sampler
wit Queen stitch, rather than XXX?
I may be dreaming??
Well, I'm so behind from everybody else
in this SAL already.
I guess I should just give it a try
to see how I like it.

Emmanuelle is stitching her own Mary with two threads of DMC on 34 ct linen for a best coverage (me too). Maybe that can help you in your choice ?
ReplyDeleteYour lakeside linens look beautiful
I also love 40ct. When I've tried to switch, I always eventually go back to my 40ct for good coverage, and I would definitely recommend 2 threads if you go with 34ct linen for best coverage. The middle section appears to me to be rice stitch which will give a really beautiful texture like queen. Scarlet Letter Mary Gibson repro has a large rice stitch area and it is gorgeous stitched. But if you can regraph for queen and readjust the bottom motifs, go for it! Excellent idea I might try too. Thanks.
