Meet Sarah Tatum, to be

kit by The Scarlet Letter
40ct linen with AVAS

She was my birthday gift from my mom
back in the summer of 2005.

And according to my old blog entry,
my last stitches were put in February of 2007.
She hasn't seen the light of day in four years.

What happened?
I remember I didn't much care for
the linen came with the kit.
It's very thin and you can even
see through it!

As I was adding some of my WIPs, UFOs
as well as the new ones on the sidebar
of my blog the other day,
I thought I should include her as well.

I looked at her and found
she is not that difficult at all.
She is just a huge girl.

I just hope I have the discipline to
stick with Sarah and get her done!!

  1. She's going to be lovely. That's so good that you picked her up again. But you know, I have never liked the fabric that the Scarlett Letter puts into their kits. I have one that I started in 1988 that was a kit and I haven't picked it up since. Maybe I should revisit it, but I still may not like the fabric much - it was too loose or something.

  2. Gorgeous is Sarah and sorry to hear about the linen. I have experienced this too with SL kits and changed it to a better quality linen but am sure it will be fabulous when finished, we cannot see it! LOL.

  4. Sarah Tatum is going to be a fantastic finish for you. Just think how lovely she'll look with those quilts! I didn't use the SL fabric on mine--I don't think I've ever used their fabric.

  5. Making a list of our UFOs and WIPs is helping me get some things finished too. I love Sarah! You always do such nice work.

  6. I love Sarah!! I have had her kitted for years... I really want to stitch her one of these days. I'm sorry you don't like the linen (I didn't like the linen that I got with her either and I switched it out for some I coffee-dyed). Good luck with getting her finished!!

  7. She will be lovely and hopefully you will enjoy stitching more on her this time round. I understand about the linen, I much prefer thicker ones.
