Ms. Limo: Not quite finished yet though...

I just finished stitching the last set of
 the flowers on the vine.

And now she looks like this :)

1839 Susan Rambo Sampler
by Janis Lockhart of Cross-Points Designs
@SANQ #62, Spring 2011 issue
Fabric: 40ct Vtg. Maple Sugar @LLs
Fiber: called NPI w/some substituions

Almost done?

Not really as I still have to deal with
the grass area at the bottom
which involved with a lot of filling.

BTW, here is my new weapon.

I'm not a frame girl when I stitch,
but as seeing and reading what Jean @LNS says
on her newsletter some time ago,
I got tempted to give it a try this one!

It's called "hardwicke manor hoops" (6.5" sq).

It's a nicely made hoop from birch wood
and very strong.
It holds the fabric really tight.

Per Jean's suggstion, I tried using it
for 1/1 and satin stitch area where
I can't really "sew".

It seems to help to open up
between each linen thread and
I can see where I'm stitching better.

Ms. Limo: You don't know the real story
about me yet!
lol

  2. Your stitching is beautiful!! I had not seen the Hardicke Manor hoops before. Sure looks like their is more usable area inside the hoop than with the normal circle. Cute photos of Ms. Limo!!

  4. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Awesome! I like the looks of that hoop. I don't use a hoop either.

  5. Oh my, just gorgeous!!! You'll be done with her really soon, I can tell! I decided to tackle all of the flower borders first so as to get them out of the way. Borders can be so boring. :D Ms Limo is so cute!!!! I love her!

  6. Oh no... Emma and Owen want to know why I don't allow them to stand on my samplers like their new friend Ms. Limo.
    Your Susan R. is gorgeous.

  7. It looks great Merumo. I love the colors in this sampler! Keep up the good work. Have you found that the frame distorts the linen when you move it? I've had that problem with hoops before... (BTW, to answer, you can just reply to my comment. I always subscribe via email when I make a comment!!!)

  8. Looking so, so good! You're really going to town on this! I'm a scroll frame girl all the way, but I'll check out those hoops. I do use them for small projects.

Can't wait to see your finish on Susan. You're going to be there in no time!!
