Civil War Quilts - #1 & 2

I'm sure everyone who comes over
to my blog would be familiar with
this SAL called "Civil War Quilts"
being held over at Barbara Brackman's.

In honor of this anniversary of
the beginning of the American Civil War.
she has started this lovely weekly SAL.

I've been thinking about this for awhile
over the past holiday season,
but could not make up my mind
as I do have a lot of WIP/UFOs.

Plus, I was not sure about
8" sq blocks as 8" sq sounds like
huuuuuge to me after making
all kinds of miniature quilts lately.

Of course I know I can always
make them as small as I'd like to,
but just had to give it a try.

Then as seeing everyone else's
beautiful blocks all over the blogland,
I could not regist not to join,
especially after seeing Sheryl's blocks
yesterday. Sigh...

We shall see how I can keep up with
these blocks for the next 50 weeks.

How about you?
Have you joined to the party yet?
It's getting very tempting for sure...
