Woolen kind of Day

Started my weekend with
a fun project and music :D

As reading Cheri's post about her having
a good day in her sewing room with
 good tunes yesterday,
recognized one of the CDs she showed.

I have that one in my iPhone!!
So as getting up in this morning,
I quickly started my music
and rush into the sewing room.

A kit from Karen

I know I have quite few WIPs-
- stitching, knitting, quilting and what else?
besides other stuff around the house need
my attention (Even not enough time
for my regular blog visit!),
but could not resist to get started on
this lovely wool kit :P

The wool pieces are all basted
and just started stitching.

Fun, fun and so much fun
with Forster The People as BGM!!

.,

I used to use the variety of colors of
to stitch down the wool motives,
but since seeing some of the shop samples
during our visit to Southern California
a couple of years ago,
I've been enjoying using that thread
in black for my wool appliques instead.

I really like the effect of using
this thread which gives a prim look
to the piece as well as less showing
the stitches as thread is a lot
finer than Peal Cotton #12 :)))

I better get back with stitching
before getting sucked into the blogland!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. Looove it!!!! I think another advantage of the YLI black quilting thread is that you don't have to try to match the color up. I'm wondering what I should use for future wool applique. I just discovered that a quilt store close to me carries the Valdani perle cotton. I might go check it out once I have the wool in hand. But I like the idea of not having to match my fabric too, plus the finer thread. Hmmmmm. Anyway, soo pretty!!!! Can't wait to see it stitched down so I can see what the YLI looks like.

  5. What a wonderful block! And thanks for the idea of the thread. Sounds easier, too. The music is unknown to me...
