"Sunday's Best"
by Cheri Payne@ Wednesday's Best Quilt
Fabrics: "Reflections of an era past"
by Paula Barnes @Marcus Brothers Fabrics ,
"Williamsburg Sampler"
@Baum Textiles for the borders
and scraps from Jo Morton's lines
for the applique
Finished size: 14" x 28"
I saw many many of Cheri Payne's
shop samplers during our shop visits this time.
I mean all over at all four shops
besides at The Wool Lady.
I instantly fell in love with
her primitive quilt style with the applique.
Stained fabrics, raw edge applique and etc.
I've just started the applique part
and using Primitive whip stitch
with YLI Quilting thread in black
as Cheri suggested in her pattern.
For the background,
I used "Aged Muslin" @Marcus Fabrics
at my first time this time.
Do you see the "aged" effect
with the creases and stains
besides my bad ironing job?
I love that aged look!
"soot&ashes " Block #1-8 by Cheri Payne
Speaking of Cheri's quilt,
I also jumped on the bandwagon of
her free mystery quilt project
hosted over at her blog.
They are all nice and simple blocks so far
and I'm enjoing making them a lot :)
And I'm planning to stain the blocks
once they are all assembled
to give it a vintage primitive look like Cheri's.
