Color issue?

As someone gave me a warning
about some color issue of the thread
conversion from DMC to NPI for her,
I decided to make another visit
to LNS to make sure if I see something
don't go well together with the rest.
The one in question is
NPI #603 (DMC #451).
It seems to be too bright
comparing with DMC's color.
I didn't see anything was wrong
as laying out all the threads called for
together, with the exception of
I had to substitute that one to
NPI #561 at the time when
I picked my threads.
Here is a close up pic of DMC #451
laying by NPI #987.
I was not totally happy with
the greyish color,
so kept looking for a better candidate.
DMC #451 is another one on Susan's list
and that is converted to NPI 931A.
It looks like a perfect conversion.
So with that keeping in my mind,
I kept my eyes for a little
darker with a touch of mauve in it,
I found NPI #931 and #932 will be
a good one, maybe?
I ended up buying NPI #987
even though it's still in question,
as I wanted to stitch with that one
as well as #931 to compare.
Anyhow, I will see what will be like
once it's stitched with the combination of
other pink.
Enjoy your weekend,

I think 931 would make a good substitute for 603 (451). It's soft and pretty. I also like your change for 491 (I had 561 in my stash) and I think it looks really nice with the rest of the colors.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Let me know what you end up using. Maybe I should get 931 or 932 as well. I wasn't totally convinced by 987 either.
ReplyDeleteI am of no help with color choices - I agonize, pick something, change my mind.... and so on.
ReplyDeleteI like the changes you made - as long you like it, I think that is the main thing.
I hope that you will find the right colour. I'm asking myself about the colour of the squirrels. They are filled with the same DMC 451...? Strange... Too dark for me...I think that i will make a change, i will see..
ReplyDeleteI am no help with the colour changes I am afraid but I will say that this is just such a lovely project. Looking forward to watching your progress on it.
