"soot&ashes" Freebie
by Cheri Payne
Block size: 5" sq finished
I finally got back with this lovely quilt last night
after the turkey fiesta time at our friend's.
Look!
I even got to the wool applique blocks, too :)
After I had a nice chat with Wendy
later in the afternoon,
I got a great motivation to keep up with mine.
Thank you Wendy!
I still have to cut out more wools
for the vines and such,
but I decided to make the blocks first,
then I will go from there for the rest.
The below is Cheri's finished quilt,
and this one is mine,
just being laid out.
I used Aged muslin
for the sashing and borders
as well as the background of
the wool applique blocks.
I just love this stuff!!
You don't see the effect of
how the way it is dyed in my pics,
but it has a look of the vintage/primitive.
BTW, It's Black Friday today.
Have you all gone for shopping already?
I have never done this
since moved to the U.S. xx years ago-
- I usually try to stay away from the crowds,
but today, my friends and I are going out
to our LQS to enjoy the shopping spree
in this afternoon :)))
Why is it that l LOVE everything you make? Your quilt is going to be beautiful, and l love the mini from your last post. Very cute. l need to go visit my sewing room!! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh look at you! I love the colours you picked for your blocks. And wow the appliques are done as well.
