Meet my new friends!
"apple brown betty" SAL
at Cheri Payne
Block Size: 3 1/2" unfinished
Cheri has started her new SAL
on this past Monday and
I jumped right in :D
As adding the triangles yesterday,
almost every single point of
the star blocks got eaten up :(
But I'm still enjoying this lovely SAL.
And today's part is even more fun-
it's my favorite = making bunch of HSTs!!
"Blessing Baskets"
Block #3
SAL at TQC
Block Size: 4 1/2" unfinished
Not only playing with "apple betty brown"
is such fun, Temecula Quilt Co. has
also started their SAL to celebrate
their 5th anniversary.
My kit has just arrived earlier this week
and started making the basket blocks.
Sheryl has already posted the 2nd block today.
Will be busy between these two girls
for awhile :)))

They both look great! I always have trouble having those points showing. lol! I love basket quilts so that Temecula one is one I'm enjoying just watching progress. :D
ReplyDeleteJust a tip that might work for you next time. l always sew from the side where l can see the point seams. If they look like being off just a bit, l can make a small adjustment as l sew along, and make sure the points are near perfect!! Hope this helps.
ReplyDeletel also meant to say, its looking lovely despite the points being slightly off!!
ReplyDeleteI do like your new SAL, maybe I jump in too LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh yes saw the TQ basket in her newsletter, beautiful too, have I got time?
Have a great weekend:))
Your blocks and fabrics are all very beautiful! I look forward to following your progress on both of this SAL's.
ReplyDeleteTo my eye, your blocks look perfect! I love the colors in both of them; they're old fashioned looking and so warm and pretty. I will enjoy watching your quilts progress!

I love your project and they look perfect to me. I can't tell you how many times my points haven't been quite points, but I think that is a part of quilting.
