Totally forgot about sharing
this cute thing I made last week!
I saw these lovely, yet interesting looking things
at my LQS on last Sunday where our monthly
meeting was held (SSQSG).
They made me think about for a minute
to see how they are actually made.
One of our members, Lin said
they used a freebie available somewhere
over the internet world,
but she couldn't find the pattern
anywhere in the back room.
So I turned the coasters inside out
(Shhhhhh, don't touch them!)
and figured out they are made from
5 pieces of the charm squares - 5" sq
and a thin batting :O
As I went back to our meeting room
and told the ladies what I found out
while they were talking about
how Cheryl made hers with
the rectangles, instead of the triangles.
of her latest blog post and you will see
her rectangle version of them at the top
left by the pretty apron she made. ;)
Then shortly after we went home,
I had to make mine, of course,
and here comes Kathy who is also
a member of our meeting sharing
hers in the rectangle version!
And I also found a nice tutorial
of the triangle version here for you.
Now I'm enjoying my quiet Sunday morning
with stitching the binding strip down
on the Peppermint Pinwheels quilt
I finished quilting yesterday.
I will take some better pictures
once it's really done!
PS: I just found a tutorial
for Criss-Cross coasters in
rectangle variation here.
Enjoy!!

Those coasters are adorable. THanks for finding the tutorial and posting a link. As soon as Christmas is over, I'll start making some - for next Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteOh naughty M LOL, the coasters are lovely and finally I know what to do with the charms:))
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday.
I like all the coasters in all their variations. They'd make a wonderful holiday hostess gift.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! They're all so nice! I can't wait to see your peppermint quilt finish too. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat little coasters. I really like the idea, and as usual I love the colors you picked.
ReplyDeleteTypically what I am looking for now : something nice and quick to make for Christmas! Thanks for these nice tutos. And, as usual, your fabric choice is great!
