I've made a test block nearly a month ago
when my quilty friend Kristine and I
made a plan to make a pillow.
We need nine blocks altogether.
I moved my sewing machine, rotary cutter, mat,
iron and such to the dining table
as my sewing room gets reeeeeally warm
in the afternoon :(
Ok, I'm good to go!
Oh, what's that?
It's a spool of Presencia thread.
While I keep buying Mettler thread/875 yds,
My another quilty friend Lin suggested me
to try this one comes with a huge cone
at a great price at LQS.
I was little shy to jump onto that
new thread to me
as I was not for sure if my old buddy
BERNINA machine would like that.
So I got this smallest spool just for a test use
and have been using since a couple of days ago.
It's finer and making
pretty good stitches with my machine.
I love it!

Merumo, as always your color choices are so rich. Hopefully, Fall is around the corner!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric choices for autumn and "school" season. I use Presensia for pretty much all my machine piecing. It is m favourite. And if I don't have the right colour or enough of one of them I use Wonderfil. My machine LOVES the Presnesia. I use it for hand piecing my hexagons together too. The Wonderfil "clounds/frays" along the thread too much, so I don't use it for mu hexies. Hope things are going alright with your studies! Happy schoolhouse piecing!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love that pattern, and oh, how I love your house block and the fabric stack! The fun you will have making it, and the fun we will have following the progress:)
