"Salome Kriebel circa 1834-1840" Reproduction by The Essamplaire
Fabric: 40 ct Zweigart - a kit
Fiber: AVAS - a kit
Stitch count: 162 x 198
I've just started this lovely reproduction sampler. Since I haven't stitched with AVAS threads for such a long time, I've forgotten all about it - how the way those threads are, like the texture wise as well as the thickness. They are much glossier than what I remember...
BTW, the actual color of this fabric is much more yellowish, I think it's "Sand" colourway @Zweigart.

I've started this project at such a perfect place, the public library! While I was happened to be in the area the other day, I went inside of the local library to see what's new.

And here is one of the books I found interesting. It's a huge book - I think it's rather a catalogue, of The MET's quilts collection.

As I was browsing their collection, this one caught my eyes. Hum, what is "Mikado Quilt" like?

I wouldn't consider this one as a Japanese thing, it's more like Chinese to me. But it looks like they just call that kind of the particular print as "Mikado" like the pictures on it. They don't say anything about Japanese.
