Square it up!

My most favorite, yet very helpful tools for the piecing are some unique rulers.

I may have mentioned about these nifty gadgets in the past, but more I use, I get more and more comfortable about my quilt blocks making.

Basically how it works is you need to cut the pieces a little larger than they should be before sewing together, then trim the excess edges all way around after piecing them up to get the exact shape! Square it away!!

The above is for HST-Half Square Triangle.

This one is for Flying Geese.

Some would think it is such a time consuming way as well as too much extra work to make the blocks, but you are wrong! It's really worth afterword as you won't feel sorry yourself to deal with those clean uniformed blocks ;)

Both rulers are for the miniature sizes, and the larger ones are also available.

You may wonder if I sell them? Good try, but the answer is no...

Oh, but I may be able to help you with something else, your other question might be- What is she making now?

This is a kit from one of the monthly programs Temecula Quilt Co. had ran last year. The program was called "Monthly Mini" from Lori Smith's pattern book and this particular pattern is "Sampler Fun" with Jo Morton's fabrics.
