Isabella Fox - Finished! & More Fun

She is all done!!

GigiR Designs
Fabric: Vtg. Sand Dune 40ct
@Lakeside Linens
Fibers: Called for

I had so much fun with Isabella.
It took exactly six months from start to finish.
(I started her on New Year's Eve.)

Here is all four of our Isabella.
(Note: This picture was taken at the last
Sampler Sunday last week and
everyone else but me has finished hers.
I finished mine just a couple of days ago.)

Many thanks for Deb, Sheri and Janet
running this wonderful SAL.
You girls are the best!

And thanks for all of your lovely comments
and emails for my last post.

I even haven't been able to finished
replying back to you all,
but truly appreciated your suggestions and
encouragements leaving that pink kitty as is.

So she is being left in pink indeed ;)

Now what?

We set the start date for our next SAL -
- Elizabeth Sheffield by SL as 1st, August.

As my hectic days haven't been changed much
since my last few blog posts,
I haven't done much lately as far as needlework goes.

How about small project?

I heard evil whispers on last Sampler Sunday
that Jean is having so much fun
stitching on the 50ct linen lately.

The 50ct linen?
Yes, you heard me right!

"Vintage Pincushion" by BBD
from "Joyeux Noel" booklet
Fabric: Sesame Seed 50ct by Legacy Linen
(It's actually 50/60ct uneven weave linen)
Fiber: Tudar Silk 120/2 silk floss
Candy Apple Red by Gloriana Threads

Jean @LNS is always up to something new.
I even don't remember how many times
I've gotten bitten by her needlework
trendy bugs in the past :O

There has been absolutely no doubt about
not going any higher count of fabrics for me
ever since I became a 40ct kind of a girl
which was influenced years ago
by Jean of course.

Then what are you all seeing in this post today?
Yes, I'm in a big trouble with 50ct world!

To tell you the truth,
Jean was right about fearless -
it's not really hard stitching on
 the 50ct at all.

At first, I had to stare at the fabric
for a moment till my eyes get settled
with this totally new to me kind of thing.

But once you get your rhythm going,
it wasn't really hard to see the linen
threads at all.

All I needed are;

- Fine needle (#10 Ball Pt Bead Embroidery)
- Fine thread (Tudor Silk 120/2 floss)
- Fine needle threader (I can manage without)
- Good natural daylight
- Quality time ;)

Jean shared a very interesting comment
about her experience in her last e-newsletter's
distribution email.

"It was such an interesting transition
going from the 50c + Tudor silks back to
40c with regular silk floss.
I truly felt like I was stitching on burlap
with crochet yarn for the first half hour or so.
I laughed out loud!"

I can't wait to get that feeling!!
I'm sure it will definitely help me
when we get to the over one areas
of Elizabeth Sheffield on the 40ct ;)

So now are you also getting tempted?
Would you like to see what's in there?
Give it a try!!

  7. I am stitching on 50ct right now myself. I am doing an LK pattern though. It is slow going, because I am too busy gardening at this time. I will finish it this week for sure though.

  8. Gorgeous Merumo, you are a secret stitcher, finishing Isabella so quickly. Wow stitching on 50 count, my eyes would not take that, but maybe I should use a magnifier, because it does look fabulous:))
Have a good week and hope your weather is not too hot!!
