A little progress & happiness

I grabbed my SLR in this morning and shoot this picture to show you better what I was talking about on the last posting.

"It's Berry Time" @Loose Feathers #37 by BBD
Fabric: "Vtg. Chantilly Creme" 40ct @Lakeside Linens
Fibers: "Sister Scarlet" @Belle Soie by CC

Now you may find the difference of the two a little more clear... After finished stitching on the right basket, I moved onto the three birds with that plain dyed skein, which I have no choice but using that one. Well, that's not really the truth as I did have a chance to visit LNS to look for another skein closer to the one has more gradations, but I didn't do so as I doubt if they still have the same dye lot in their stock.

Life moves on.

Then while I was enjoying stitching the baskets, T came back home after nearly 4 weeks of his visit to Tokyo with a huge surprise!!

The above baked goodies are from one of my best friends from the college who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Tokyo last year and runs her own catering business for the breads and the cakes. She baked and sent all of these - 4 small Baguettes, 2 Pound cakes, Biscottis and a tart!, to where T was staying over for him to bring back home to the U.S.. I still feel like I'm in the heaven :)))

Anyone who would like to join the party, give me your paw!!

  2. I imagine finding a matching dye lot over a long period of time must be very difficult. I do require about 10 balls of yarn for my each project. And it is not always possible to buy them all from the same dye lot. I am never good at fine needleworking, so I really admire your embriodery. They are so delicate and beautiful...
So the santa brought back a lot of goodies from Tokyo! My Paul is away for a just 1 week and I am missing him alot. Being separated for 4 weeks sounds hard!
