Sewing is back!

Summer Star SAL
Block Seven
hosted by Sheryl @ TQC
Block size: 4 1/2" unfinished

I swear I posted this one a week ago,
but obviously I didn't!?!?!?

Summer Star SAL
Block Eight
hosted by Sheryl @ TQC
Block size: 4 1/2" unfinished

And of course the latest block is here now :)

I'm looking forward to see
how Sheryl will put them altogether
next week or so?

And speaking of sewing,
here is my latest fall inspired project.

"Little Red"
by Carrie Nelson @Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.
Block Size: 4 7/8" unfinished
Quilt Size" 30" x 38"

As seeing the store displays
turned into the fall colors,
I got itch for fall project :D

I purchased this quilt kit
a couple of years ago at my LQS
as seeing one at shop display
which was made by Cheryl
who hosts SSQSG
(aka Small Scale Quilt Study Group).
You can see hers somewhere
in the middle of this post.

I substituted a lot of mediums
with lights trying to get a good contrast,
but as seeing hers again in the picture,
I really like hers better :(

I need more oranges and darks
to get a warm and rich look.

A good news is though,
as the border fabric has a lot of
oranges, so let's hope it will help
to pick up some more in each block.

Another reason I got started
on this quilt is...

Back in past June,
I joined a local wool penny rug group
hosted by our local designer
Ginger Sanchez.

We meet monthly at Ginger's place
and stitch her penny rug project.
(I'm afraid I can't post any picture of that
yet as all she shares with us are
her pre-published patterns.)

It's really a small group -
- Ginger and 7 members or so.
And guess who else is a member of
this fun group? (You can't imagine
how crazy and fun this group is!!
We have a blast on every meeting!)

I haven't seen her since
I was a member of Miss Rosie's club
at my LQS a couple of years ago,
and then all of the sudden,
I got this nice surprise to see her again :)

That clicked my memory
to remember what I have in my stash
and found this kit.

I'll still have to make 8 more blocks
and rearrange them as I go to get
the look I want eventually.

Happy stitching everyone!!
